Lenovo IdeaPad S10

Dear Blog,

Lenovo IdeaPad S10Meet my new netbook: Lenovo IdeaPad S10 :)

I bought it last Saturday at IT Show (@Suntec, Singapore). The price went from S$799 down to S$649, complete with free upgradable RAM from 1GB to 2GB and 6 cell battery.

In my opinion, my new netbook is quite affordable for me and meets my need to browse the Internet, check mails, chat, and play Pet Society games at Facebook (it’s a little bit lag when I played it but it’s okay for me). With it 6 cell battery, this netbook can stand about 4 hours. I can also store my musics, games, eBooks, videos, etc through it’s internal 160GB HDD.

The 10″ size of this netbook makes it portable and easier for me to carry it anywhere I go :) This netbook comes in black, white, and pink color. I picked the black one because it wouldn’t get dirty easily (well, it might be, but it’s harder for me to spot the dust :P )

To all of you who might be interested with this netbook, I want to share that I’ve already read through many reviews of this netbook before I bought it. The main problems with this netbook are the fan’s sound and the keyboard which is just 85% of a normal keyboard.

The fan doesn’t give any problem to me since I spend most of my time by listening music through earphone but I really need to get used with the keyboard especially when I was typing number. In normal keyboard, the left key of ’1′ is ‘`’ but at this netbook, the ‘`’ key is at ‘F1′ left that makes ’1′ key become the most left . It makes me mistype number most of my time (e.g: ’1′ become ’2′, ’2′ become ’3′ and so on).

Surely after I get used with the keyboard this netbook will suit me perfectly :D

Fairytale Part 1

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom named INA, there was a princess named Eva. She had everything she had ever wanted like clean clothes, lots of food when she was hungry, good boyfriend named Kurni, and she even had a bright path for her future. Everything seemed perfect for her.

One day, the princess wanted to know about the outside world so she began to start her journey. She went from INA kingdom to her neighbour kingdom named SGR. This was where the story began…

The princess learnt to live independently by herself. She was accompanied by Kurni and 2 of her friends – Bonnie and Wilse in order to find a new path for their future. They lived in a humble abode in a small village named Woodlands.

Would the princess live happily ever after??? We’ll find out soon :P

Happy Chinese New Year !!!

Dear Blog,

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I came here at Singapore. Yesterday I was celebrating chinese new year by praying at Kwan Im temple in Bugis. This is the first time I celebrate chinese new year in foreign country, not in my home. The temple was very crowded, I think almost all of Singaporean came there to worship God in order to celebrate ox year.

Singaporean culture is quite unique. In chinese new year, most of the malls or stalls were closed.  Employees usually took a week day off to celebrate this special day with their family and relatives. I went to Orchard Rd yesterday and the whole road were desolate. Only some shops were still opened. It’s hard for me and my friends to find food stall at the time like this. We’ve eaten junk food since yesterday because that’s the only restaurant that opened at this time :P

Well, enough of the stories, let’s hope that the ox year will bring a good fortune, wealth, prosperity, and luck for me, my family, my friends, and all of you who have read this blog :)

The Present By Spencer Johnson

Dear Blog,

Today I have finished read “The Present”. This is a great book and I recommend it for all of you who wanna find your own happiness.

It told us that we must appreciate everything that seems right at “The Present”, learn from “The Past” and plan for “The Future”. The present for each person is different depends on their own purposes.

If you aren’t feel satisfy with your life right now, then sit down, relax and read this book. The simple story about “The Present” in this book will refresh your mind, inspires you to do things better and make you feel happier.

Birthday – A Special or An Ordinary Day?

25 November 2008 is my 24th birthday. At first, I thought that it was just an ordinary day. I blinked my eyes several times, re-thought, “Is it really my birthday? Nothing change, except lots of people shake my hand and I lost lots of money for treating them”.

No cards, no cake, nothing seemed to be a “sign” that it was my birthday. Kurni has given me a set of Harry Potter’s novel before and Uni has given me jacket. Maybe I didn’t receive it right at my birthday that I felt everything was too plain, too so-so.

The great thing came at night. When I was sitting in front of the computer, Kurni pointed a small jewelry box on the desk and asked me, “This is belong to whom?” I opened the box and saw a beautiful heart-shaped pendant. I closed the box and I said, “Dunno, maybe it is belong to my sister”. He became furious and said, “It’s for you!”.

I didn’t expect that he would prepare another special present for me. Thanks Kurni, for making my ordinary birthday became a special day.

Miniature of Squall FF-VIII

Dear Blog,

Yesterday Kurni has bought me a miniature of Squall (Final Fantasy VIII) character. Actually, he didn’t buy it for me, he saw me put an interest to this object so he gave it to me.

It’s so cute and looks similar with the real character. Here’s a pic of the miniature:

Thanks you Kurni, I love it ^___^

Holiday @The Beach

Dear Blog,

I went to Anyer with my colleagues (IT Division at BCA) on Saturday morning. We stayed at Jayakarta Resort for 2D and 1N.

I really have a good time there. I’ve tried to play flying fox twice. I also played at the beach (duh! I surely did :p) .

At Saturday night, I won a doorprize: MP4 Player by Advance (Lucky me !!!)

I show you one of my pic there:

This picture was taken by Mr Yance (Thx ^_^) He asked me and my friend to jump several times to take this photo :D It looks natural, rite? hehehehe

*I went home yesterday and my face were RED, I think I played too long at sunny beach that makes me got sun tan without wanting it :p
